Talented Galileo Filly Gains Deserved Stakes Success
The Aidan O’Brien trained Delphinia (3f Galileo - Again, by Danehill Dancer) gained a well-deserved black-type success when taking the Listed River Eden Fillies’ Stakes at Lingfield.
The daughter of Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Again was beaten just a short head last time out at Group 1 level, having also claimed runners-up honours at the highest level on her previous start. Unsurprisingly sent off favourite under Seamie Heffernan, she was held up in a field of 12 and was driven to challenge a furlong and a half from home. Running on strongly inside the final furlong, she led close home and scored by three parts of a length, going away.
Owned by Coolmore partners, Delphinia was bred by Orpendal and Chelston and is a full-sister to two Stakes horses. Her two-year-old full-brother Conan Doyle is unraced, but holds an entry in the 2020 Epsom Derby.
