Talented Son Of Highland Reel Sells For 380,000gns
The highly-rated Inverness (3c Highland Reel - Four Eleven, by Arch) will continue his career in Qatar, after selling to Wathnan for 380,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale.
Olly Tait conducted the bidding for Abdulhadi Al Hajri’s racing operation and confirmed that Inverness, like all their purchases, would be trained by Alban de Mieulle. On Inverness, Tait said, “He’s a high-quality horse with very consistent, progressive form who goes on firm ground. Hopefully he’s a horse who can be competitive in the Qatar Derby, he’s that level of horse. He’s very willing and his form stacks up well so I’m delighted to get him.”
Trained by Charlie Hills for Steven Rocco and partners, Inverness landed a valuable prize last time out when winning a Class 2 contest at Haydock. Bought as a yearling for 110,000gns, the first crop son of Highland Reel was bred by Knockainey Stud.
