Ten Sovereigns Duo Command High Prices At Tattersalls Book 1
Yearling buyers have taken note of Ten Sovereigns’ exciting start at stud, made apparent by the impressive average price of 330,000gns for two lots sold at the Tattersalls Book 1 yearling sale.
Ten Sovereigns’ first offering benefitted from a Group 1 update courtesy of sister Porta Fortuna, who is by another sire from the Scat Daddy line. The talented two-year-old’s co-owner Medallion Racing teamed up with Avenue Bloodstock and MV Magnier to secure the well-related yearling for 400,000gns. Offered by the Castlebridge Consignment, the bay filly was bred by Whisperview Trading out of a full-sister to Group 2 winner and Group 1 performer Numerian (Holy Roman Emperor).
Ten Sovereigns’ second and final Book 1 yearling offered another example of the quality mares covered in the young sire’s second season, being out of Group 3 runner-up Farzeen. Consigned by Meon Valley Stud, the colt was knocked down to Sackville Donald for 260,000gns.
Ten Sovereigns was responsible for four six-figure yearlings at the preceding Goffs Orby Sale, bought by Aidan O’Ryan, MV Magnier, BBA Ireland and Ollie Sangster.
