Ten Sovereigns Filly Wins Maiden In Fine Style
Loch Leven (2f Ten Sovereigns – Flashy Wings, by Zafonic) produced a likeable performance to justify favouritism in Wednesday’s seven furlong maiden at Kempton.
The Ollie Sangster-trained filly shaped like a smart type when narrowly denied over course and distance on her second start and enjoyed a form boost when the winner impressed next time out, bringing her rating to 89. Partnered by Oisin Murphy on Wednesday, she quickened smartly up the inner from two furlongs out and ran on well when challenged soon after. She and the colt Transparent rallied clear, with Loch Leven running on to score by a length and three quarters, with another five and a half lengths back to the third.
Bred by Lynch Bages and Rhinestone Bloodstock, Loch Leven is owned by David Redvers, Woodside Bloodstock and partner. The half-sister to Group performer The Mediterranean (Galileo) hails from the second crop of Ten Sovereigns.
