Welcoming (No Nay Never) winning a novice stakes at Haydock

Two more for No Nay Never

The seeming never-ending purple patch for No Nay Never’s first crop shows no sign of slowing up with two more classy winners on Friday.

At Haydock, Clive Cox saddled Welcoming (2f No Nay Never-Love Over Gold, by Peintre Celebre) to win the six-furlong novice event by no less than four lengths.

Bred by Hugues Rousseau, he was ridden by Adam Kirby, who commented: “Welcoming has put her head down and got on with it. She has strengthened up and will hopefully progress a lot further next year as she gets stronger again. She has a nice attitude and is a good mover.”

Later at Dundalk, the Jospeh O’Brien-trained Eagle Song (2c No Nay Never-Al Ihsas, by Danehill) looks set for a step up to black-type company after running away with a nursery under top-weight, two weeks after scoring at the same track.
