U S Navy Flag Colt Returns With Stylish Maiden Victory
Dream For Gold (3c U S Navy Flag - Why Not Queen, by Dubawi) built on last season’s promise to running out a taking winner on return on Friday.
Kevin Ryan’s charge was last seen in September, when finishing second in a competitive contest at York and was sent off favourite to go one better in the five furlong Novice Stakes at Chelmsford. Racing in second for much of the way, he drew clear with the leader early in the straight and was ridden to clear inside the final furlong. Running on strongly, he scored by two and a quarter lengths under Tom Eaves, with another eight and a half lengths back to the third.
Owned by Jaber Abdullah and bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, Dream For Gold has earned prize money on all of his career starts to date. The promising colt hails from the first crop of U S Navy Flag, whose first runners include Listed winner and Group 2 performer Ocean Vision, as a well as impressive Stakes winner Love Reigns.
