Unbeaten Rock Of Gibraltar Colt Stakes Classic Claims

Rock Boy (3c Rock Of Gibraltar - Frasque, by Iffraaj) strengthened his Classic claims when extending his unbeaten record in the Group 3 Prix Djebel at Deauville on Thursday.

Two from two last season, the Richard Chotard-trained bay dropped back to seven furlongs in the Classic trial and was held up at the back of the field by Mickael Barzalona. Asked to challenge two furlongs from home, he made good headway to lead inside the final furlong and was ridden out to win by a length. Previous Listed winners finished second and third.

Rock Boy has now earned his place in the Poule D’Essai Des Poulains next month. Owned by Team Calas, the son of Rock Of Gibraltar was bred by Legendary Rent Club.
