US Stakes-Winner for Rock of Gibraltar

The $78,800 Steve Pini Memorial Stakes at Suffolk Downs on the weekend was won by Irish bred mare Sea Coast (5m Rock of Gibraltar x Varna, by Efisio).

Trained by Christophe Clement, Sea Coast drew clear to win the 1 and 1/16^th mile contest on turf by two lengths.

Stakes-placed in Ireland and second in the Grade III Monmouth Eatontown Stakes after transferring to the US, Sea Coast has won four of 19 starts.

She is the 109^th stakes-winner for Rock of Gibraltar and is from a half-sister to Group I winner Groom Tesse.
