Vita Nova brings more black-type for Galileo
Galileo’s daughter Vita Nova (5m Galileo-Treca, by Darshaan) looks set for another good season after making a good seasonal comeback when winning the Listed EBF Daisy Warwick Stakes at Goodwood on Sunday.
Henry Cecil’s charge finished runner-up in last season’s G1 Yorkshire Oaks and she looks to be a contender for more black-type glory this year after this length and three-quarters victory from Shimmering Surf (5m Danehill Dancer-Sun On The Sea, by Bering).
The five-year-old, who is owned by Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, also finished runner-up in last season’s G2 Lancashire Oaks at Haydock and her big-race entries include the G1 Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh.
