Well Bred Fastnet Rock Filly Gets Off The Mark
A drop back in trip proved just the trick for Tres Valentine (3f Fastnet Rock - Tres Ravi, by Monsun), with the Jean-Claude Rouget-trained filly gaining her maiden win at Lyon on Tuesday.
Dropping back to ten furlongs on her third attempt, she raced prominently under Hugo Journiac and quickened on the turn for home. Racing on strongly, she won by four lengths.
Owned by Chevotel Racing and bred by Chevotel de la Hauquerie, Tres Valentine is a full-sister to Listed winner Tres Rock Glory (Fastnet Rock) and closely related to multiple Stakes winner Tres Rock Danon (Rock Of Gibraltar), who also finished second in the Group 1 Prix du Cadran.
