Well Bred Quartet By Highland Reel Set To Shine At Tattersalls
A quartet of well-related yearlings will represent globetrotting superstar Highland Reel at one of the year’s most prestigious sales; the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale at Newmarket.
Highland Reel’s first yearling through the ring this week is a filly from Kildaragh Stud (Lot 6), who is a sister to three-time Stakes winner and multiple Group-placed Battalion, who also counts Galileo as his grandsire. Her dam Zigarra is also the granddam of Group 2 Balanchine Stakes heroine and Group 1 third Aloha Star (Starspangledbanner).
Lot 55 from Highclere Stud has enjoyed a notable update since the catalogue was printed, with half-brother Palace Pier extending his unbeaten record in the Group 1 Prix Jacques Marois in August, following up on his Group 1 success in the St James’s Palace Stakes.
Lot 146 from Aston Mullins Stud will hope to build on his foal price of 75,000gns. The brother to three winners is out of Stakes performer Ensaya and hails from the family of Aga Khan-bred stars Ebadiyla, Enzeli and Estimate.
Lot 442 from Marlhill House Stud is another bay Highland Reel colt hailing from a talented family. He is out of a half-sister to three Group winners and shares his page with champion stayer Millenary.
