Well Bred Zoffany Filly Enjoys Change Of Fortune

The Kevin Prendergast-trained Astadash (3f Zoffany - Starfish, by Galileo) delivered on earlier promise when running out a clear winner at Dundalk on Wednesday.

The Manister House Stud homebred entered many notebooks on debut when finishing a close third behind Ennistymon (Galileo) in a Leopardstown maiden, but was last seen suffering traffic problems over course and distance last month. Chris Hayes took the ride once again, positioning his mount in midfield and pushed along from two furlongs out. The bay improved to chase the leaders approaching the final furlong and soon led, going clear to score by three and a quarter lengths.

Astadash is a half-sister to three Stakes horses, including La Collina, who Kevin Prendergast trained to win Group 1 contests as a two and four-year-old.
