Winning Newcomer Continues Terrific Run For Starspangledbanner
Spangled Mac (3g Starspangledbanner - Intermittent, by Cacique) justified strong market support to make a winning debut in at Bath at Tuesday.
The George Boughey-trained bay was one of three newcomers to line-up for the five and a half furlong contest and was ridden in touch by Daniel Muscutt. Pushed along approaching the two furlong marker, he was ridden to lead a furlong later and kept on well to score by two lengths.
Owned by Adrian McAlpine, Spangled Mac sold for €66,000 as a foal and 140,000gns as a yearling. The son of Starspangledbanner has a two-year-old full-sister who sold for 180,000gns as a yearling.
