Wootton Bassett Filly Continues Profitable Period In Paris

Daisy Maisy (2f Wootton Bassett - Shasta Daisy, by Champs Elysees) continued her successful juvenile campaign by landing a Class 2 contest at Longchamp on Thursday.

Successful on debut in July, she finished a fine third in another class 2 next time out and was last seen finishing second in the valuable Criterium Arqana, with the winner since placed at Group 1 level.

Sent off favourite for the Prix des Capucines over a mile, Yann Barberot’s charge was ridden to chase the leaders by Gregory Benoist and was asked to quicken upon entering the straight. Ridden approaching the final furlong, she was driven out to score by half a length.

Bought by Barberot as a yearling for €240,000, Daisy Maisy is owned by Madame Gitte Poulsen-Allaire and Philippe Allaire. The daughter of Wootton Bassett was bred by Gestut Zur Kuste.
