Wootton Bassett Newcomer Impresses At Deauville

Abstract (2f Wootton Bassett - Ambivalence, by Invincible Spirit) shaped like a smart prospect when finishing strongly to win at Deauville on Tuesday.

Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard for Juddmonte, the newcomer was one of 14 fillies to line up for the conditions race over seven and a half furlongs. She chased the leaders for much of the way and was last off the bridle, sauntering behind horses before asked to challenge at the two furlong marker. Running on strongly, she led close home to win by a head under Marie Velon, with another two lengths back to the favourite in third.

Sold as a yearling for €750,000, the promising daughter of Wootton Bassett was bred by Petra Bloodstock Agency and Ecurie de Meautry.
