Zoffany Colt Gains Deserved Maiden Victory
Maker Of Kings (3c Zoffany - Desire Moi, by Galileo) followed up on promising juvenile performances when gaining a deserved maiden success at Gowran on Thursday.
Placed on each of his four starts last season, the Newtown Anner Stud homebred made his stable debut for Ger Lyons in the seven furlong maiden. The bay tracked the leader for much of the way, improving to lead entering the final furlong and stayed on well under pressure to win by three parts of a length under Colin Keane. The fast-finishing Ming Warrior (No Nay Never) claimed runners-up honours, while the favourite Jungle Cove (Mastercraftsman) finished third.
Maker Of Kings is the first foal out of the mare Desire Moi (Galileo), herself a full-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Lush Lashes (Galileo). Desire Moi was sold to BBA Ireland carrying Maker Of Kings for 220,000gns at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale.
