Zoffany Filly Goes One Better At Saint Cloud

Tasmania (2f Zoffany - Australienne, by Monsun) shaped like a smart prospect when finishing a close second on debut earlier this month and followed up on Wednesday out when scoring at Saint-Cloud.

The daughter of Zoffany was sent off the even-money favourite on her second attempt over a mile and was ridden to chase the leaders by Maxime Guyon. Quickening to join Sentimental Mabo approaching the final furlong, she ran on well to win by a length on the line.

Owned and bred by the Wertheimer brothers, Tasmania had clearly shown promise at home with Carlos Laffon-Parias, having earned herself an entry in next month’s Prix Marcel Boussac. A full-sister to fellow winner Zoffanien, the daughter of Zoffany hails from the family of Melbourne Cup victor Americain.
