Zoffany Filly Impresses With Maiden Victory
A step up in class may now be on the agenda for Encapsulation (3f Zoffany - Supercharged, by Iffraaj) after the Noel Meade-trained mare ran out an impressive winner of the maiden at Clonmel on Thursday.
The Eoin Banville-owned mare showed promise on debut earlier in the month when finishing fourth at Leopardstown and was once again ridden by Colin Keane. Sent off favourite, she chased the leaders for much of the ten furlong contest and was asked to challenge at the two furlong pole. Making good headway, she led a furlong and a half from home and kept on well to win by four lengths and three quarters.
"She is a nice filly and is pretty decent. She has done nothing but improve and improve and improve and Colin said she still didn't know what she was doing there today. You wouldn't know but that filly could get herself into Stakes class.” trainer, Noel Meade.
