Zoffany Filly Lands Listed Sprint
A drop back in trip saw Lyzbeth (4f Zoffany - Arcangela, by Galileo) gain a maiden black-type success in Sunday’s Listed Cathedral Stakes at Goodwood.
The Martyn Meade-trained filly raced over six furlongs for the first time since her sole two-year-old start and was ridden close to the pace by Oisin Murphy. Produced to challenge two furlongs out, she led inside the final furlong and ran on well to win by a length.
Owned by Mantonbury Stud, Lyzbeth was bred by SAS Elevage Du Haras De Bourgeauville out of a Galileo half-sister to two Stakes horses. She adds to a fast increasing tally of Stakes winners by Zoffany, who was responsible for 26 black-type horses in 2019.
