Zoffany half-brother wins G2 Futurity Stakes

Zoffany was an outstanding juvenile himself and the family trait continued when his half-brother Rostropovich made light work of his opposition in the G2 Futurity Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.

Aidan O’Brien’s representative overcame the testing underfoot conditions when showing real resilience to claim the seven-furlong contest.

"He stayed at it well. He wasn't mad about the ground and will get further than seven,” said O’Brien, who is now looking at a step up to G1 company.

"On better ground he'll travel better. The G1 National Stakes (The Curragh, September 10) is a possible next race."
