Arthur another winning newcomer for Getaway
Trainer Philip Hobbs unveiled another exciting debut winner for Getaway at Hereford on Monday in the shape of bumper scorer Arthur Mac (5g Getaway-Orchardstown Moss, by Lord Of Appeal).
Champion jockey Richard Johnson was riding the five-year-old, bred by James Purcell, who forged clear in the final strides to win with ease.
The Racing Post commented: “From the family of Bula, (Arthur Mac) showed plenty of determination to make a winning debut, having a hard enough race in the process but showing a good level of form. He looked a sitting duck as they turned for home but he dug deep and probably had a bit more in hand than the winning margin indicates. He looks a nice prospect.”
