Back To Back Wins For Exciting Son Of Mahler
Daily Present (5g Mahler - Another Present, by Presenting) confirmed the impressive nature of his maiden hurdle success with another smart performance in Saturday’s novice hurdle at Navan.
Successful in a four-year-old maiden on his sole start for Michael Goff, the son of Mahler went on to finish second on his first start for Paul Nolan, before drawing clear at Fairyhouse in January. Sent off favourite to follow up under a penalty, the bay tracked the leader under Sean O’Keeffe and made headway from three out. Nudged along to lead after the second last, he kept on well on the run-in to deny the well-regarded Bronn by a length and a quarter.
Speaking after the race, Nolan said, “Daily Present looks a fair horse, Sean thinks he's a proper one and I hope he's right. We'll take a look at Fairyhouse and Punchestown. He's only five and strengthening, and he'll probably get one more run .”
Bred by Thistletown Stud, Daily Present is closely related to black-type hurdle Go Millie Go (Milan).
