Back-To-Back Wins For Getaway Mare
Miss Delighted (6m Getaway - Abhainn Ri, by Saddlers’ Hall) secured back-to-back wins when running out an impressive winner of Monday’s maiden hurdle at Hexham.
Successful over two miles and seven furlongs last month, the Oliver Greenall-trained mare was sent off favourite on her return to two and a half miles. Held up midfield of 11 by Ross Turner, the bay made good headway approaching two out and led before the final flight. Driven clear, she scored by four lengths, with a further nine lengths back to the third horse.
The progressive winner began her racing career with James King, for whom she was placed in a point-to-point and narrowly beaten in a bumper at Cork. Bred by Liam O’Regan, Miss Delighted is out of a half-sister to useful hurdler Baily Rock.
