Wepushourlucksofar (Mahler) And Moon Over Mexico (Soldier Of Fortune) Dead Heat At Dromahane

Beeches Stud Sires Dominate Finish In Dromahane Maiden

Moon Over Mexico (5g Soldier Of Fortune - St Gregory, by Presenting) and Wepushourlucksofar (5g Mahler - Taken, by Kayf Tara) rallied clear to dead heat in the five-year-old geldings maiden at Dromahane on Sunday.

Trained by Colin Bowe and Noel Glynn respectively, both were making their third start and began to trade the lead from six out. Wepushourlucksofar had the advantage at the final fence, but Moon Over Mexico battled back to lead on the line, with the pair finishing 12 lengths clear of the rest of the field.

Bought at the store sales for €70,000, Moon Over Mexico continues a fine run for Colin Bowe with the family, with half-sister Honky Tonk Highway (Milan) having made a winning debut last month. The pair were bred by Godfrey Greene.

Wepushourlucksofar is owned by his handler and is the first foal bred by J.F. Mernagh out of the mare Taken.
