Black Type Getaway Mare Records Second Chase Success

The Nicky Henderson-trained Lust For Glory (8m Getaway - Maisie Presenting, by Presenting) defied a penalty to gain her second win over fences at Ludlow on Wednesday.

Owned by Annabel Waley-Cohen and family, the daughter of Getaway won a similar contest by seven and a half lengths last month and had since finished fourth against the opposite sex in a “jumpers’ bumper” at Kempton. She was sent off second favourite for Wednesday’s two and a half mile test and raced prominently throughout under James Bowen. Nudged along from three out, she was clear at the second last and did enough on the run-in to score by three lengths and three quarters.

Lust For Glory adds to another two wins over hurdles and another in a bumper, having also achieved black-type as a five-year-old. Bred by Robert Merrigan, the bay was bought for £240,000 after winning her sole start in a point-to-point for Denis Murphy.
