Black Type Walk In The Park Mare Back In Front
Friday saw Ilovethenightlife (5m Walk In The Park - Belle De Londres, by King’s Theatre) gain her second career success in the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Doncaster.
The Joe Tizzard-trained mare drew clear on her hurdle debut earlier in the season and went on to finish third in a Listed contest over the festive period. Facing another four previous winners at Doncaster, she was well-supported in the market and raced prominently throughout under Brendan Powell. Producing a challenge at the final flight, she was ridden to lead on the run-in and stayed on well to beat the favourite by three parts of a length. The first two finished 11 lengths clear of the field.
Ilovethenightlife was bought by Tizzard with Peter and Ross Doyle at the store sales for £80,000. Bred and sold by Goldford Stud, the daughter of Walk In The Park is owned by Geoff Nicholas in partnership with Susan and John Waterworth.
