Brother To The Big Breakaway Tops Day 1 At Tattersalls Ireland
A son of Getaway (Lot 205) proved the highlight on the opening day of the Tattersalls Ireland November NH Sale when selling for to Timmy Hillman for a session-topping €85,000.
Spikle Stud’s half-brother to Kildisart was widely touted as a potential top lot on Saturday, his popularity strengthened by his own-brother The Big Breakaway making an impressive chase debut at Cheltenham last month, while their full-sister fetched €125,000 at last year’s store sales.
Hillman entered the frey at €50,0000, and after fending off the likes of Adrian Costello, said, “He was one of the standout foals today and he has everything going for him. He’s also a brother to a very promising horse who could do a lot more over the coming seasons.”
Fellow Grange Stud resident Walk In The Park was responsible for two €40,000 colts on Saturday, while his only other offering sold for €34,000. John Bleahen’s Lakefield Farm were first to strike for a colt offered by Walshtown Stables as Lot 197. The first foal provided dam Glentrasna View with a fantastic start in the sales ring, she an unraced half-sister to two Graded performers.
That evening, Oaks Farm paid the same price of €40,000 for Tus Nua Stud Farm’s Walk In The Park colt out of a winning own-sister to black-type performer Dewcup.
