Cheltenham next for Getaway’s Talkischeap
The Alan King-trained Talkischeap (6g Getaway-Carrigmoorna Oak, by Milan) made light work of the softest ground he had encountered at Newbury on Saturday.
The Getaway gelding shook off some useful rivals, among them the classy Barters Hill, to win the three-mile hurdling event under Wayne Hutchinson.
“We dithered over whether to declare him yesterday as all his good form is on spring ground,” said King. “But he travelled very well through the race and I am delighted with him.
“He’s got a fair bit of ability and is in the G1 Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham. He’ll be better on better ground.”
A three-time point-to-point winner, Talkischeap was bred in Ireland by Michael Veale.
