Connections Impressed By Getaway Filly On Debut
Lady Temperance (4f Getaway - Easily Gavotte, by Presenting) led home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore NH sires in Monday’s mares bumper at Naas.
The Mags Mullins-trained newcomer raced in mid-division, improving to track the the leaders from three furlongs out and led approaching the final furlong. She kept on well under Patrick Mullins to win by a length and three quarters from Fairyhill Run (Mahler), with Beth Horan (Yeats) taking third.
The winning trainer was encouraging post-race, saying, “Lady Temperance is a nice filly and I'm impressed with her. She's a good genuine solid filly and it's a good track to win on. She was a little bit green and there should be a lot of improvement in her.”
Owned and bred by Daniel Furini, Lady Temperance is the first foal out of the mare, a half-sister to the Stakes-placed Le Roumois.
