Daughters Of Getaway & Westerner Bring Six Figures
The Listed-placed mare Lust For Glory (6m Getaway - Maisie Presenting, by Presenting) will return to the yard of Nicky Henderson after being knocked down to Highflyer Bloodstock for £235,000 at the Goffs UK Spring Sale.
Sold as Lot 709 as part of the Grech & Parkin Dispersal, she previously won two hurdles and a bumper for Henderson for her former owners. David Minton did the bidding and later commented, “She has a good pedigree and has already got black type. She will definitely run next season and could easily go chasing.”
Listed winning chaser Kupatana (6m Westerner - Kildea Cailin, by Anshan) was not far behind her on the results sheet, as the bay (Lot 708) brought £210,000 from Peter Molony of Rathmore Stud. Also part of the Grech and Parkin dispersal, she was wonderfull consistent for Paul Nicholls, winning five of her 12 starts and placing on another three occasions.
On his pricey purchase, Molony said, “She'll come home to Rathmore Stud for a break and she'll most likely go into training with Henry de Bromhead. She's a very good mare and hopefully we'll have a bit of fun with her over fences. She should suit the jumps programme for mares in Ireland. It's very hard to buy these high-class racemares.”
