Debut Maiden Victory For Mahler

Speak Of The Devil (5g Mahler - A Fine Romance, by Air Display) will now head for the sales ring after making a winning debut at Tattersalls on Sunday.

The Shark Hanlon-trained chesnut led or disputed for much of the five-year-old geldings maiden, with Anthony Fox pushing his mount to lead approaching the last fence, repelling a host of challengers as he crossed the line a length in front.

Many of his rivals had the benefit of experience, including the third who had finished second on his first attempt in January. Owned by Rachel O’Neill, Speak Of The Devil was bred by Brett Merry.
