€220,000 Yeats 4yo shines on debut
Compadre (4g Yeats-Jolivia, by Dernier Empereur) looked a sparkling future prospect when winning a Bangor bumper by eight lengths on his debut on on Wednesday.
Sporting Sue Magnier’s dark blue silks, and owned with Derrick Smith and Michael Tabor, the Yeats gelding justified strong market support when winning by eight lengths under Noel Fehily.
The four-year-old was sold by breeder Philip Hore for €220,000 at last year’s Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale and trainer Jonjo O’Neill feels he has a good future. “Compadre is a nice horse who has schooled well,” said O’Neill.
