G2 for Mahler's Sutton Place
The Gordon Elliott-trained Sutton Place (6g Mahler-Glebe Beauty, by Good Thyne) continued his climb up the career ladder on Sunday when easily winning in G2 company.
J P McManus’s exciting son of Mahler took the G2 Boyne Hurdle at Navan by three and three-quarter lengths in good style.
The six-year-old, bred by James Leahy, also scored in G2 company last season and Elliott feels he will be even better when going over fences in the future.
“He’s a nice horse and a big chaser in the making,” said Elliott. “The ground wasn’t ideal for him but he showed his class. Whatever he does this year will be a bonus.”
