Game Son Of Getaway Lands Beginners Chase

The well-supported Rebel Waltz (9g Getaway - Wilde Gossip, by Oscar) returned to winning ways in Friday’s Beginners Chase at Clonmel.

Twice a winner over hurdles, the TJ Nagle-trained chesnut had previously shown some promise over fences and returned from a long lay-off last month. Settled towards the back of the field by Robbie Geoghegan, he improved into midfield at halfway and took second with two fences left to jump. Soon disputing, he was ridden to lead at the final fence and dug deep to prevail by a neck on the line.

TJ Nagle had another reason to celebrate as he also bred the son of Getaway.
