Getariver Impresses On Rules Debut
The Dan Skelton-trained Getariver (6m Getaway - Watson River, by Presenting) made a successful debut under rules when taking the bumper at Ludlow on Thursday.
A three length winner of her sole point-to-point start in November, she had since been purchased for owners Mr and Mrs Gordon Pink. One of two mares in a field of six, Bridget Andrews took the ride and tracked the leading favourite, Buck’s Bin’s, before asserting from two out. Running home strongly, she scored by eight lengths with her rivals strung out behind her.
Andrews was pleased with her mount, commenting after the win, “We've not had Getariver long but she's a nice horse with a good attitude. She's very raw and there's masses of improvement. We like her.”
Bred and trained by Damien Murphy to win her point-to-point, Getariver is a half-sister to two winners, out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winning chaser Watson Lake.
