Getaway Mare Builds On Promising Debut
The Olly Murphy-trained Allavina (5m Getaway – One Cool Kate, by Definite Article) built on a promising debut to take the mares’ bumper at Market Rasen on Sunday.
The bay finished third to Coquelicot (Soldier Of Fortune) in a similar contest last month, with that winner having since gone on to win at Listed level. Allavina was sent off favourite of the field of 13 on Sunday, with Aidan Coleman riding the bay in midfield and making headway from four furlongs out. Leading as they approached the final furlong, she was ridden out to hold off Martello Sky by three parts of a length on the line.
Owned by C Boultbee-Brooks, Allavina was bred by John O’Riordan and comes from the family of Apache Stronghold (Milan).
