Getaway Gorgeous Wins At Tramore

Getaway Mare Delivers On Debut Promise

The Willie Mullins-trained Getaway Gorgeous (5m Getaway - Impudent, by In The Wings) followed up on her promising debut when taking Friday’s bumper at Tramore.

Despite having been off the track for almost a year, she was sent off favourite for her debut second and raced keenly under Paddy Mullins. Travelling well when leading two furlongs out, she kept on well to win by a length and three quarters.

Willie Mullins commented after the race, “Her run last year entitles her to put in a performance like that. I think she'll improve and we'll look for a winners' bumper with her.”

Owned by the Whitegrass Getaway Syndicate, Getaway Gorgeous was bred by Ballintry Stud’s Joe Rogers and is a half-sister to dual Grade 3 winner Rock The Kasbah. Her dam Impudent was useful herself, finishing third in a valuable handicap at the Galway Festival, and is a half-sister to dual Grade 2 winner Royal Shakespeare.
