Getaway Mare Impresses With Maiden Hurdle Win
Cut And Run (6m Getaway - Somethinaboutmolly, by Choisir) produced an impressive performance to run out a decisive winner of the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle at Bangor on Friday.
Mrs Zara Tindall’s homebred finished third on her seasonal return last month and was dropping back in trip to just short of two and a half miles. Leighton Aspell rode the bay to chase the leader, racing upsides three from home and led approaching the second last. Drawing clear, she was eased down on the run in and won by 12 lengths.
Better things are surely ahead of Cut And Run, who is trained by Martin Keighley. She becomes the third winner out of her dam and comes from the family of Grade 2 hurdle winner King’s Opera.
