Getaway Mare Off The Mark In Good Style
Newmill Getaway (4f Getaway - Presenting Newmill, by Presenting) took a step forward from her promising rules debut to run out a clear winner of Sunday’s bumper at Worcester.
Fourth between the flags on her sole start for Cormac Doyle, the daughter of Getaway finished third on her first start for David Brace and contested geldings for the first time at the weekend. Racing in touch under Connor Brace, she was travelling best of the field with three furlongs left to race and led a furlong later. Soon clear, she kept well on to beat point-to-point winner Drumlee Spud by seven lengths.
She becomes the first winner bred by Derwent Dene Farm out of Presenting Newmill, who has a three-year-old filly by Wings Of Eagles.
