Getaway Mare Remains Unbeaten Over Hurdles

The Nicky Henderson-trained Yellow Dockets (7m Getaway - Soft Skin, by Rudimentary) defied a penalty to remain unbeaten over hurdles at Warwick on Monday.

An impressive winner over the same course and distance of two miles and five furlongs in December, the chestnut mare was sent off a sort-priced favourite for the Novice Hurdle. Nico de Boinville followed the same formula as the pair’s previous victory, making all of the running and racing away from her ten rivals on the flat, extending her advantage to eight lengths on the line.

Ryan Tongue, racing manager for owners Grech and Parkin, later commented, “Nico de Boinville said she jumped so well and her main target will be the EBF Final at Newbury.”

The mare was purchased privately by her current owners after two placed efforts in bumpers last season, while prior to that, she finished second on her sole point-to-point start for Pat Collins. Bred by John Duggan, Yellow Dockets comes from the family of Gaye Brief and Gaye Chance.
