Getaway Trump Back On Top In Competitive Chase
Getaway Trump (8g Getaway - Acinorev, by Cape Cross) proved admirably consistent once again on Saturday when running out a comfortable winner of the Class 2 Virgin Bet Handicap Chase at Doncaster.
The Paul Nicholls-trained bay came into the two mile contest having won or been placed in seven of his eight starts over fences, and produced another fine round of jumping at the weekend. Asked to challenge by Lorcan Williams at the second last, he led before the final fence and ran on well to score by six and a half lengths, the field string out behind him.
Grade 1 placed over hurdles and Grade 2 placed over fences, Getaway Trump gained his first career success at Lisronagh for Vincent Halley and was subsequently sold for £90,000. The son of Grange Stud sire Getaway was bred by Eugene O’Sullivan.
