Getaway Trump Runs Out Deserving Winner Of Beginners Chase

Talented hurdler Getaway Trump (7g Getaway - Acinorev, by Cape Cross) got off the mark over fences when justifying favoritism in Thursday’s Beginners’ Chase at Warwick.

Grade 1 placed over hurdles and Grade 2 placed over fences, the Paul Nicholls-trained bay was ridden to chase the leaders by Harry Cobden and improved into second approaching the second last. Switched right to challenge before the final fence, he was ridden to lead on the run-in and scored by a length, as the runner-up finished 19 lengths clear of the field.

Bred by Eugene O’Sullivan, Getaway Trump was sold to Nicholls and Tom Malone for £90,000 after winning a point-to-point impressively for Vincent Halley.
