Grade 1 Aims For Exciting Son Of Getaway
Weveallbeencaught (6g Getaway - Curvacious, by Anshan) will step up to Grade 1 company after leading home a 1-2 for Getaway in the Ballymore Maiden Hurdle at Cheltenham on New Years Day.
The son of Getaway sold for £210,000 after winning his sole start between the flags for Michael Kennedy and made a successful start for Nigel Twiston-Davies in a bumper last season. Third in a Grade 2 on his hurdle bow, he was sent off favourite on reappearance and made virtually all of the running under Sam Twiston-Davies.
Ridden approaching the final fence, he kept on well on the run-in to beat Rock My Way (Getaway) by a length and a quarter, with the pair finishing clear of the remainder.
“He's one for the future and a chaser,” the winning trainer later commented. “He's very exciting. He'll be better over three miles and he'll come back for the Ballymore or Albert Bartlett in March. He's one of the priciest horses we've bought but he's worth way more than they paid for him.”
Bred by Conor Murphy, Weveallbeencaught is owned by Jimmy and Susie Wenman with Edward and Jane James.
