Motu Fareone (Getaway) Wins The Grade 2 Prix Des Drags at Auteuiil

Grade 2 Glory For Getaway Mare

Motu Fareone (7m Getaway - Arrive In Style, by King’s Theatre) produced a career-best performance on Saturday to win the Grade 2 Prix des Drags at Auteuil.

The David Cottin-trained mare boasted course and distance form, including a Listed win in September and a fine second in another Listed chase last time out. Partnered by Charly Prichard on Saturday, the lightly-raced bay raced prominently throughout and was ridden on the turn for home. A good jump at the final fence saw her gain the upper hand and she ran on well to win by two lengths, with another three lengths back to the favourite in third.

Bred by Sean Gorman, Motu Fareone is owned by her trainer with Pierre De Maleissye Melun. The daughter of Getaway provides an important update for her half-brother by Order Of St George, who sells at next week’s Goffs Arkle Sale.
