Impressive Chase Debutants Complete Double For Maxios
Uncheckable (4g Maxios - Slatina, by Mastercraftsman) completed a double for Maxios on Sunday when running out a clear winner on chase debut at Saint Brieuc.
Giada Menato’s charge gained his second win over hurdles in a Class 2 in November and stepped up to two miles and three furlongs on first start over fences. Ridden to track the leaders by Ludovic Philipperon, he began to quicken from four out and led at the next. Asserting before the turn for home, he kept on well to win by eight lengths.
Owned by Mustapha Bekhti, Uncheckable was bred by Haras de la Perelle out of the useful Mastercraftsman mare Slatina.
At Pontchateau earlier that afternoon, the Daniela Mele-trained Vezzana (4f Maxios - Vallante, by Soldier Hollow) ran out an impressive 30 length winner on her first start over fences.
Gianni Saffa rode the bay to make most of the running and asserted at the second last. Soon clear, she left her rivals to fight for placings. Bred by Hartmut Bolte, Vezzana won in the colours of Marcello Randelli.
