Impressive Newcomer Leads Home 1-2 For Mahler
The Pierce Power-trained Seaside Girl (5m Mahler - Jade River, by Indian River) made a winning debut in the Coolmore and Glanbia Mares Maiden at Lismore on Sunday.
Ridden by Rob James in a field of 13, the bay mare powered clear from the second last fence and ran home strongly to score by 15 lengths. Finisk Mist (Mahler) took second to complete a 1-2 for their Beeches Stud sire, just a stone’s throw from his base.
Owned by M.J. Murphy and bred by Galgystown Stud, Seaside Girl is a half-sister to multiple winners Thumb Stone Blues (High Chaparral) and New To This Town (Milan).
