Impressive Sunday Double For Walk In The Park

The future looks bright for Life In The Park (5g Walk In The Park - Jeanquiri, by Mansonnien), after Henry de Bromhead’s charge ran out an impressive winner of Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Tramore.

A promising third on his rules debut at Punchestown, the Barry Moloney-owned bay was sent off favourite as he returned from a break. He was ridden to make all by Mike O’Connor and began to draw clear with three flights left to jump, going on to win by 17 lengths, unchallenged.

“He’s a lovely big, imposing horse and you can see it’s all about chasing for him,” de Bromhead said after the race. “He has a good pedigree and we had high hopes for him. He still looked very green around there so he’ll improve plenty.”

Life In The Park was purchased privately by connections after shaping with promise on his sole start for Donnchadh Doyle. Bred by Minch Bloodstock and AV Bloodstock, he provides an important update for his two-year-old brother by Flemensfirth.

Another exciting prospect emerged for Walk In The Park that afternoon at Stradbally, where El Muchacho (5g Walk In The Park - La Segnora, by Turgeon) won the five-year-old maiden for Michael and Caitriona Goff.

Ridden to make all by Dan Nevin, he went on to score by eight lengths and becomes the first winner bred by Mrs Dale Adams out of La Segnora.
