Curley Finger (Getaway) Wins The Novices Hurdle At Hexham

Improving Son Of Getaway Lands Novices Hurdle

Curley Finger (5g Getaway - Tooreen, by Gold Well) maintained an upward curve to get off the mark in the Novices’ Hurdle at Hexham on Tuesday.

The son of Getaway finished a promising third on his first start for Rebecca Menzies earlier this month and made a slight drop back in trip to two and a half miles on Tuesday. The bay travelled strongly throughout under Nathan Moscrop and though he became short of room after the second last, led on the turn for home. Ridden when challenged on the run-in, he kept on well to score by half a length.

Curley Finger is the first foal bred by Mrs Mary Tyner out of three-timer winner Tooreen.
