Inothewayurthinkin (Walk In The Park) Wins The Grade 1 Mildmay Novices’ Chase At Aintree

Inothewayurthinkin Becomes Latest Grade 1 Winner By Walk In The Park

Inothewayurthinkin (6g Walk In The Park – Sway, by Califet) followed up a career-best performance at Cheltenham with his first Grade 1 success in Friday’s Mildmay Novices’ Chase at Aintree.

Gavin Cromwell’s charge earned black-type over hurdles, but proved better over fences when finishing third to Gaelic Warrior (Maxios) at Grade 1 level, before drawing clear in last month’s Kim Muir Chase. Sent off favourite at Aintree, he was ridden in touch by Mark Walsh and began to run on strongly when switched right at the second last. In front by the final fence, he stayed on well to win by four lengths.

“Inothewayurthinkin clearly has a big engine,” the winning trainer commented. “I'm delighted with the result. That's it for the season with him. He's up into big boy company next year and we'll see how that goes.”

Bred by Mrs Noreen McManus, Inothewayurthinkin is a full-brother to Grade 2 winning stablemate and Grand National hopeful Limerick Lace (Walk In The Park). The pair are owned by JP McManus, who celebrated a Grade 1 treble on the card courtesy of Mystical Power (Galileo) and Jonbon (Walk In The Park).
