Mahler 5yo wins on hurdling debut
Winning point-to-pointer Mahler And Me (5g Mahler-Tisindabreedin, by Zaffaran) enjoyed a successful first start over hurdles at Newcastle on Thursday.
The son of Mahler, who was sold for £65,000 after his pointing victory last year, took this 2m 6f novice hurdle comfortably for trainer Alastair Whillans and owners Paul and Clare Rooney. “Mahler And Me is a nice horse who had been schooling well,” commented Paul Rooney.
The five-year-old was bred by E O’Connell.
